1958 Chevrolet Bel Air Impala Sports Coupe for purchase. 1958 was the first year of the third generation of the Bel Air, and with the restyling it also garnered a halo vehicle with the Impala as the top trim line. The car was designated to be the top of the line Bel Air Series Coupes and Convertibles. The design was quite different from the “tri-five” cars as the sharp tail fins were gave way to deeply sculpted rear fenders. The standard perimeter frame was replaced with an elongated “X” style frame construction which offered increased torsional rigidity. It wasn’t the first time GM had used the moniker, but it is the birth of the Impala since from the next year on through present day the Impala has been its own model line breaking off of the Bel Air.
This is a beautiful 1958 Chevy Bel Air Impala in excellent condition inside and out. The frame-off restoration was completed in 2000 with this stunner in Sierra Gold factory paint color. It’s powered by the original incredibly reliable and popular 283ci V8 paired with the 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. The engine rebuild work was done by the prestigious BHP Automotive in London, Ontario. The dash, headliner, and door panels are original and make the thought to be correct low mileage of 23,000 on the odometer very believable. It also features power steering, power brakes, Continental Kit (for spare), and an overall very correct and original appearance. This car comes with receipts, documentation, and pictures from the restoration. This car has also won a lot of awards all over West Michigan. It is a pristine show car that is an absolute head turner in a great color combination.
